Kenneth Strange, from former FBI agent to Camino de Santiago author. Walking with his wife 500 miles on a pilgrimage.

Kenneth’s Camino story began decades earlier in Madrid, but life kept the dream on hold. A chance meeting with Martin Sheen – star of The Way – reignited the spark. Realizing it was now or never, Kenneth and his wife set off in 2018 to finally walk the 500-mile Camino Francés together.

A Dream Decades in the Making

Kenneth Strange first learned of the Camino de Santiago in the 1970s while studying in Madrid, long before it became a worldwide pilgrimage. Spain’s culture and history stayed with him through the years, but the dream of walking the Camino remained quietly in the background.

Walking Through History and Faith

In 2018, Kenneth and his wife set out from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to walk the Camino Francés. Over 31 days, they covered 500 miles, discovering medieval villages, Templar castles, and quiet chapels along the way. For Kenneth, a lover of history, every stone and monument had a story; for his wife, it was the shared moments of faith and connection that stood out.

Sharing the Camino Spirit

Their journey inspired Kenneth to write It’s Your Camino, capturing not only their personal story but also the universal truth that each pilgrim walks their own path. His experience is a testament to partnership, resilience, and the beauty of walking through history hand in hand.

Kenneth Strange is a retired FBI agent, author, and lifelong traveler whose Camino journey combined his passions for history, faith, and shared adventure with his wife.
