A woman from London/Australia, a man from Spain, the Camino de Santiago, and an albergue. Mixed all up with love and you have Casa Susi.

Susi and Fermin met while walking the Camino de Santiago. Their connection deepened beyond the trail, leading them to build a shared life in Spain and open Casa Susi – a place where pilgrims can rest, connect, and experience the same kindness they once received on the road.

A Meeting on the Camino

Susi, from Australia, and Fermin, from Navarra, Spain, met as pilgrims walking the Camino de Santiago. What began as casual conversation along the trail soon became a deeper connection – one built over shared miles, meals, and moments on the road.

Love That Crossed Continents

After their Camino ended, neither distance nor oceans could keep them apart. Their story became one of flights, letters, and visits between Spain and Australia until they finally decided to build a life together in Spain.

Casa Susi: A Home for Pilgrims

In the small town of Trabadelo, along the Camino Francés, they opened Casa Susi – a warm, welcoming albergue where every pilgrim is greeted like family. For Susi and Fermin, it’s a way to give back to the road that brought them together, keeping the Camino spirit alive for others.

Susi and Fermin are the heart behind Casa Susi, a Camino albergue born from their own pilgrimage love story.
