"The Camino Brought Us Together - Now We Inspire Others Walk Their Own"
Camino Tellers: a true inspirational story
They didn’t plan it. They didn’t expect it. But when Erika and Ricky set foot on the Camino de Santiago, everything began to change—fast.
What began as a personal quest for meaning quickly became a shared journey of connection, creation and unexpected clarity. From different corners of the world, with different pasts and different plans, they collided on the path like so many pilgrims do—guided by something unseen but deeply felt.
For Erika and Ricky, the founders of Camino Tellers, what started as a single pilgrimage became a new way of life—one rooted in meaningful movement, deep connection, and inspiring stories. This is more than a story about walking. It’s a story about listening—to the road, to each other, and to what life whispers when we finally slow down.
Some people walk the Camino and return home. Others never really leave it.
In this episode of El Camino People: The Podcast, Erika and Ricky share how their travels, from Spain to Japan and beyond, continually pull them back to what matters: walking with purpose, listening with heart, and inviting others to rediscover themselves on the path.
Whether they’re documenting stories, guiding others, or simply walking in silence, their message is clear: the Camino isn’t something you do. It’s something you become.
From Travelers to Tellers: How the Camino Rewrote Erika & Ricky’s Story
Erika and Ricky didn’t set out to start a movement—they just wanted to walk. But through each step of the Camino, they began to realize the power of stories shared on the trail, the people they met, and the impact those voices could have.
From Japan to Spain, they followed the pull of sacred paths. And somewhere along the Meseta, an idea was born: to document the spirit of pilgrimage, not just through their own lens—but through the words of many.
Now, as the founders of Camino Tellers, their mission is to make the invisible stories visible, and keep the magic of the Camino alive for all who hear it.
One Pilgrimage Changed Everything. Now They Help Others Walk Too
One journey was all it took to crack something open. For Erika and Ricky, the Camino wasn’t a tourist route—it was a mirror. It reflected their fears, their dreams, and their potential.
After finishing their first pilgrimage, they found themselves unable to return to “normal life.” The walk had changed too much. Instead of stepping back into old routines, they leaned in—guiding others toward meaningful travel and helping new pilgrims step into the unknown.
Today, they continue to walk, to share, and to remind others that transformation begins one step at a time.
They Didn’t Just Walk the Camino. They Became Part of It
Most people walk the Camino and go home. Erika and Ricky stayed—spiritually, emotionally, and intentionally.
Their connection to the trail didn’t fade at the cathedral in Santiago. It expanded—into friendships, collaborations, and the founding of Camino Tellers, a creative project born from deep listening and lived experience.
Through photography, conversation, and presence, they became more than pilgrims. They became witnesses. Now, they give others a voice—because the Camino isn’t just a journey you take. It’s one you carry.
