Bienvenidos a el primer podcast en español de El Camino de Santiago. Hoy os presentamos El Camino People – EL PODCAST! Caminas con nosotros?
Why We Started Listening
There’s something that happens when you walk the Camino.
You meet a stranger on the path, and by evening, you’re sharing your life story. You walk in silence, then suddenly find yourself confessing things you’ve never told anyone. The path opens something in you.
Jose Mari Ardanaz understood this. He saw it in every pilgrim who passed through his Instagram community, in every message, in every photo of a worn backpack and a weary smile. And he realized something crucial: these stories need to be heard.
Not just scrolled past. Heard. Listened to. Held close.
From Instagram Community To Your Ears
El Camino People started as an Instagram project. A way to celebrate the pilgrims walking the sacred paths of Spain. But after a year of building community, of watching people connect, Jose Mari knew Instagram wasn’t enough. Photos could only tell part of the story.
The real magic happens in conversation. In the pauses between words. In the voice cracks when someone talks about what brought them to the path.
«That’s why a podcast,» Jose Mari explains. «When you’re walking side by side with someone, or when you arrive at the albergue and chat while you’re cleaning your feet—that’s when the real stories come out. There’s something on the way that opens us in ways we don’t open on normal days.»
Every Walk Has A Story Worth Telling
The podcast will feature interviews with pilgrims from around the world. Not just about why they walk, but how the Camino changed them. Which route they chose—the Francés, the Primitivo, the Aragonés—and why. The hidden gems buried in the paths that most people miss.
But it’s not just pilgrims. Jose Mari will talk with hospitaleros who serve pilgrims day after day. Shop owners. People from town halls and villages along the route. Everyone who makes the Camino what it is.
«The Camino isn’t just about the walkers,» Jose Mari reminds us. «It’s about the entire community. The people who feed you, shelter you, cheer you on. They’re part of your journey too.»
Two Languages. One Vision.
Episodes will release every two weeks in English, with companion Spanish episodes following. Because stories shouldn’t be limited by language. Because a pilgrim from Mexico deserves to hear a pilgrim from Ireland, and vice versa.
Some interviews will be available in both languages. Others will be exclusive to one. But the message is clear: your story matters, no matter what language you speak.
This isn’t a corporate podcast. It’s not polished or perfect. It’s real. It’s raw. It’s about people who stepped onto a path and discovered something they didn’t know they were looking for.
